Global education framework launched at Harvard with IB Director General
On 12 December 2017, leaders in global education gathered at the Harvard Graduate School of Education for the launch of a new global competence framework developed by the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
Global competence is becoming more and more important in our interconnected and diverse societies. The framework is designed as a tool for policy makers and teachers and aims to develop and assess global competence among young people across the world.
IB Director General, Dr Siva Kumari, took part in the panel discussion on “Perspectives and Complexities in Educating Global Competence” and highlighted how the IB develops and strengthens global competence.
“My colleagues spend an extraordinary amount of time talking to educators around the world. What I’ve always found fascinating about our work is that we create those very broad and ambitious frameworks,” Dr Kumari says.
