More than 101,000 MYP students worldwide have received their eAssessment (e-Portfolios and on-screen examinations) and personal project results from the May 2026 examination session.
This year, more than 1,200 IB World Schools in 124 countries submitted students' personal projects. This personal and creative piece of work focuses on an area of personal interest to each student. The personal project is a culminating MYP project that all students develop in their final year of the programme.
Dr. Matthew Glanville, Director of Assessment at the IB said: "It's truly rewarding to witness the achievements of MYP students worldwide as they take on our assessments with passion and dedication. These students deserve immense credit, as do the educators across the IB community whose guidance has supported them on their journey to becoming thoughtful, compassionate, and principled citizens of the world."
Schools have the option to register for the MYP eAssessment, which includes ePortfolios of coursework and on-screen examinations. For the May 2026 examination session, 359 IB World Schools in 82 countries participated in the optional MYP eAssessment. Students who registered for the full MYP certificate received an average score of 36.4 points (of 56 possible maximum).
The MYP eAssessment aims to challenge students to think critically and independently while solving real-world problems using a broad range of knowledge. The on-screen examinations are unique because as well as being technologically innovative, students also use authentic assessment approaches to demonstrate conceptual understanding and the ability to apply knowledge in complex, unfamiliar settings, including the use of global contexts.
The MYP builds on the knowledge, skills and attitudes developed by the Primary Years Programme (PYP). It also prepares students for the Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP), with the critical thinking and future-ready skills that facilitate a smooth transition for anyone who continues their education within the IB continuum.
