Ozel Ilk Cizgi Kindergarten has been authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP). Located in Bursa, in the Marmara region northwest of Turkey, Ozel Ilk Cizgi Kindergarten has the distinction of becoming the nation’s 100th authorized IB World School.
Since the first authorization in 1994, the IB has witnessed a steady growth of Turkish schools delivering one or more IB programmes. There are currently 100 IB World Schools, teaching 126 IB programmes, spread across the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme, and the Diploma Programme.
“In our journey that we set out in 1995 as a story of love, our first goal was to accept each of our children with love, support their healthy personal development, and ensure that they are willing and ready to learn for the next level of education. We have used our programme, which we have created by making use of the cultural aspects of the educational approaches applied in the world, as a tool for our children to grow up as individuals who are at peace with themselves and their environment, who have multiple perspectives, questions, focus on the problem-solving and have high internal motivation”, noted Mrs Tülay Turan, Head of Ozel Ilk Cizgi Kindergarten.
“We have seen that all we want to achieve is systematically created under the roof of IB, always striving to achieve better. We decided to become an IB World School with the motivation of being an international school in the globalizing world and raising our children as global citizens”, Mrs Turan adds.
“We welcome Ozel Ilk Cizgi Kindergarten to the IB community. It is a privilege to partner with Turkish schools and parents to help students develop the knowledge, skills and sense of purpose they need to thrive throughout their lives and contribute to making the world a better place”, said Dina Khalaf, IB Development and Recognition Manager.
