Principals defend the IB

Four school principals in the Falls Church City School System, Virginia, USA are fighting to protect their IB programmes against budget cuts.

Fcnp.com reports that the Falls Church School Board was tasked with finding almost US$ 1million in cuts from their 2017 budget. In response, the article states that their four school principals presented an eloquent and impassioned defence of the educational values and effectiveness of the system’s IB programmes that run from kindergarten through the 12 grade. The advantages and benefits of the IB were strongly defended, along with the catastrophic consequences of a budget cut.

The packed house supported these statements, and the speakers received a lengthy ovation from the audience.
