Free global high schools for high-achieving, low-income students

Noodle.com reports that the problem of inadequate access to quality secondary education is, to a certain extent, being addressed by a global group of schools offering many students enrolment for free.

United World Colleges (UWC) enrol, and often funds, global cohorts of students.

The UWC school scholarships for US citizens and permanent residents are funded by Shelby Davis, an American donor, who also provides funds for UWC graduates who qualify for admission at 90 US higher institutions. 

This is a little-known way for high-achieving, low-income students to secure a top high school education.
