The requested virtual mode of delivery offers flexibility to schools in meeting their professional development needs.
Requested virtual workshops are primarily synchronous learning experiences available to schools and groups of schools upon request. The workshops consist of 12 hours of both synchronous and asynchronous engagement across two consecutive days, with an additional 3-hour independent learning assignment. Introductory workshops consist of 6 hours of engagement over the course of one day.
Requested virtual workshops involve live interactions with workshop leaders and colleagues through a dedicated video-conferencing platform. Educators engage with the same content and achieve the same learning outcomes as our face-to-face workshops.
To request a virtual event, a minimum of seven participants per workshop is required and all applications must be received at least eight weeks prior to the desired start date.
How virtual workshops work
Participants will be granted individualized access to our platform, where they will meet and collaborate with colleagues to complete a comprehensive agenda of both synchronous and asynchronous (self-paced) learning activities, facilitated by an IB workshop leader, over 2 consecutive days.

PD requirements
The IB establishes minimum professional learning requirements, which serve as a starting point for comprehensive, strategic professional learning that leads to stronger programme implementation and positive student outcomes. Please read the summary of PD requirements.
Completion criteria
To fulfil the criteria for completion, participants must attend all sessions of the workshop, as confirmed by attendance lists submitted to the IB post-event. All workshops (except for Developing the MYP/CP) will also need to complete an additional independent learning assignment outside of workshop delivery hours. This independent assignment will vary by workshop and may require up to 3 hours. A certificate of attendance will be awarded to all participants who successfully meet the aforementioned criteria.
