Research Schools International
With generous support from the Jacobs Foundation and in partnership with the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University, HundrED, and the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford, Research Schools International (RSI) led a collaborative action research program involving thousands of educators across the globe. The research team from RSI and Harvard collaborated with partner schools to survey educators in 154 schools across 71 countries, using mixed methods to analyze the data. The results indicate that schools globally are implementing a rich variety of initiatives aimed at supporting the wellbeing of students aged 3-18. The initiatives range from those that target relationships, character development, physical and mental health, and the exploration of arts and play in schools, to those that extend beyond the school walls to nurture connections with families, the broader community, and our natural environment. This booklet presents these promising practices, linking them with previous academic research when possible.
