Exam calculator policy

Last updated:

All students in the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) will need a calculator for one or more subjects.

However, not all programs or applications are suitable for use in examinations. Further information on approved calculators may be found in the Programme Resource Centre (PRC).

Schools that are authorized to implement the IB’s programmes, or are candidates to do so, can access the PRC.

Each DP subject group has its own section on the PRC. For information on calculator use in different subjects, please visit either the PRC’s calculator section or the relevant subject section.

  • Requesting DP transcripts and certificates

The International Baccalaureate (IB) provides an official transcript of grades for the DP. Before results are released, candidates can request to have results sent to six universities free of charge—and request to pay for additional transcripts as well.

  • Join the IB's global alumni network

The IB is extremely proud of its graduates, and the alumni network connects them with one another and with the IB community.

Members of the alumni network receive opportunities to get involved in IB projects and to share their stories.

Students who will graduate in the next two years are encouraged to join.
