Each year, an IB World School pays a fee for each programme they are authorized to teach; and pay certain one-off fees for other purposes such as Evaluation.
The annual fee is applied after the school has been authorized and according to the assigned billing cycle; schools are designated as May or November session schools depending on their academic year or the school’s main examination session. May session schools are billed in September, November session schools are billed in March.
For schools newly authorized after the relevant billing cycle, the annual fee is applied directly after authorization is granted and is pro-rated for the remainder of that billing cycle.

There is only one annual fee, per programme, associated with being an IB World School.
Fees for 2024-25
The fees for the next academic year, beginning September 2024, are below. These fees are valid until August 2025.

Fees for the Career-related Programme
Since 2018, there are two ways for schools to offer the Career-related Programme (CP).
Schools already offering the DP continue to pay the amount in the above chart—but schools will also be able to offer the CP without being authorized to offer the DP.
To reflect this change, there is a separate fee structure for schools offering the CP without the DP, as reflected in the table below.

Discounts on the annual school fee (for authorized schools)
If a school offers a combination of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) and/or Career-related Programme (CP), that school pays a reduced fee to reflect their commitment to the IB. The discount a school receives depends on the number of programmes they offer.
From August 2018
- Non-continuum school with any two programmes from the above programmes: 10% on lowest priced programme
- Continuum schools: 20% discount on each programme
Effective from August 2018, continuum schools will be entitled to a 20% discount on each programme. Continuum schools are schools that offer the PYP/MYP/DP or PYP/MYP/DP/CP or PYP/MYP/CP. For example, an authorized school in the US with PYP/MYP/DP will be entitled to a total discount of USD 6,568 to the annual fee.
Additional fees
The annual school fee is the only fee charged each year to IB World Schools. However, there are other fees and services available, such as consultation visits. The IB also conducts periodic evaluation visits, which have a fee attached.
