Professional development

Last updated:

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) provides a range of professional development for schools, including face-to-face and online workshops, webinars, blended learning and e-learning resources.

These can also be delivered in-school, at district or cluster workshops, and at regional conferences.

Professional development requirements

As part of the authorization process for implementing the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the IB requires schools to send one teacher from each subject group to attend an ‘Implementing the MYP’ workshop.

Heads of schools must attend a category 1 heads’ workshop before submitting an application for candidacy to become an IB World School, and MYP coordinators must attend a category 1 workshop during the candidate phase.
