ASU exemplifies a new prototype for the American public research university.
More than a decade ago, ASU set forth a new and ambitious trajectory to become a comprehensive knowledge enterprise dedicated to the simultaneous pursuit of excellence, broad access to quality education, and meaningful societal impact. From that point forward and founded on a vision for a new "gold standard", all of its energy, creativity and manpower have been brought to bear on the design of a uniquely adaptive and transdisciplinary university committed to producing master learners.
Career-related studies (CRS)
Accelerate ASU works with IB as a CRS strategic provider to provide college courses in pathways that lead to further/higher education, apprenticeships or employment to IB students enrolled in the Career-related Programme (CP).
Students can choose from these Mastery Certificates:
Mastery Certificate – Google Information Technology Support
In this online program, students work through five ASU Universal Learner Courses (ULC) that leverage the Google IT Support Certificate, as well as supplemental industry material that is aimed at giving them the best preparation possible to begin a career in Information Technology. 12 credit hours.
Mastery Certificate – Applied Business Data Analytics
In this online program, students work through six ASU Universal Learner Courses and learn the skills used by business analysts to streamline business processes and decision-making with data. 18 credit hours.
Mastery Certificate – Project Management
In this online program, students work through four ASU Universal Learner Courses. They learn the skills used by project managers to understand a project life cycle, determine time and sequencing, create a needs assessment and cost estimation, and plan project resource management. 12 credit hours.
Customizable Certificates
Schools have also the ability to use the Universal Learner Course catalog to create a customized certificate pathway for their students. Schools work with ASU Accelerate Partner Managers to create a specific career-related pathway that best meets the needs of their students, community, and school or to complement an already existing CTE/CRS pathway. Schools pull from over 60 available Arizona State University ULCs to determine their customized certificate pathway, typically choosing between 3-6 courses within a thematic framework, with the option of adding their own, localized project-based curriculum.

University recognition
Both IB and ASU courses are credit-bearing courses that may be transferable to other higher education institutions in the US.
The flexible nature of the CP means that universities tend to review applicants on a case-by-case basis. We would recommend that you contact each university in advance of applying to discuss whether your particular combination of Diploma Programme (DP) courses and CRS will be considered.
You can check which countries and universities recognize the IB in the IB's database.
Find ASU’s IB recognition policies in the section Comparable degree requirements in different countries and territories.
International students
Successful completion of CP has been officially recognized by ASU to meet the requirement of proof of high school graduation, opening new opportunities for students to be considered for higher education in the United States.
Program delivery
The ASU certificates are delivered online.
