The first IB World School in Texas was Bellaire High School, authorized in 1979. Since then, the IB has grown to over 170 authorized schools across the state. Out of all IB World Schools in Texas, 91% are public schools. Currently, Texas follows California in the number of IB World Schools and programmes in the United States.

How does Texas recognize the IB?

Texas has several policies that recognize the IB as an advanced coursework programme. The state provides grants and provisions to schools, educators and students to have access to the IB.

Higher education institutions across Texas also recognize the IB Diploma and accept transcripts from IB students. Below you can find an overview of all institutions that have accepted IB students in the last five years.
