The first IB World School in Colorado was George Washington High School, authorized in 1984. Since then, the IB has grown to 100 authorized schools, 131 programmes, and 3 programmes in Candidacy (2022). Currently, Colorado ranks fifth in the number of IB World Schools in the United States.
