A Note on Altitude
Denver is known as the “Mile High City” because it sits at an elevation of 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) above sea level. While most visitors adjust easily, some may experience effects of altitude such as fatigue, headache, or shortness of breath during the first day or two.
To help your body acclimate:
- Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water before and during your stay.
- Limit alcohol and caffeine in the first 24 hours.
- Pace yourself when walking or exercising.
- Get plenty of rest and listen to your body.
