The IB African Education Festival provides an inspiring opportunity to deepen your professional expertise, engage in rich dialogue with colleagues across Africa and beyond, and contribute to building a stronger educational community grounded in Ubuntu—our shared humanity and unique context.

Full festival registration

Early bird fee: USD 200 (before 1 February 2026)

Standard registration: USD 250 (as of 1 February 2026)

This two-day registration includes:

  • Access to all plenary sessions, breakout discussions, and networking opportunities
  • Keynotes by leading voices in education and innovation across Africa
  • Lunch and refreshment breaks on both days
  • Access to the exhibition area showcasing IB partners and educational resources
  • Participation in all social activities, including the Welcome Reception on 10 April

General note:
Travel and accommodation are not covered by the International Baccalaureate (IB). All participants are responsible for making their own arrangements.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations received on or before 19 March 2026 will be refunded in full.
Cancellations received after 19 March 2026 will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Payment information

  • Swiss schools are subject to Swiss VAT (7.7%) in addition to the registration fee.
  • The payment summary will be displayed in USD and can be downloaded from the IB online registration system.
  • A final invoice will be issued subsequently, where applicable.

Accepted payment methods

Payment can be made by credit card or wire transfer, depending on participant status.

IB World Schools:
Schools that are recognized as IB World Schools in the IB system may request payment by invoice.

Non-IB schools and individual participants:
Participants who are not registered as IB World Schools in the IB system are required to pay by credit card at the time of registration.

IB World School status is verified through the IB registration system.

Credit card payments (Mandatory for non-IB World School participants)

  • During the registration process, on the final payment page, you will be asked to select your payment method.
  • If credit card payment applies, you will be prompted to enter your card details, and the registration fee will be charged automatically upon submission of your registration.

Invoice payments (IB World Schools only)

When paying by invoice, please ensure that:

  • All bank charges are covered in advance
  • The IB receives the exact amount due.

To ensure your payment is correctly recorded, please include the following references:

  • Invoice reference number (where applicable)
  • IBIS code
  • School name
  • Programme coordinator’s name and email address
  • Event name, city and dates: IB African Education Festival, Johannesburg, 10–11 April 2026.
