Primary Years Programme

Last updated:

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) prepares students aged 3 - 12 to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect and understanding for the world around them.

Benefits of the PYP

  • The PYP presents schools with a comprehensive plan for high quality, international education. It provides schools with a curriculum framework of essential elements — the knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes, and action that young students need to equip them for successful lives, both now and in the future.
  • It allows educators to take a concept-driven approach to learning. The PYP invigorates learning and teaching, and transforms school community and culture.
  • It encourages collaboration among students, promotes international mindedness and develops skills involving learning in more than one language.
  • It opens up a world of learning for both parents and students, with thoughtfully designed ways to give three-to-five-year-olds stimulating, supportive interactions with their teachers and the effective use of curricula.
