Examiner electronic ID verification

As part of our ongoing review of security protocols, we are implementing an ID check on a sample of approximately 1,500 IB Examiners.

The ID check utilises an electronic ID verification (eIDV) system. This system uses AI to compare an official ID and a selfie to verify a person’s identity. Each selected Examiner will be sent a unique link to complete the ID check.

To complete the check you will need a valid, government issued photographic form of ID, and either a smart phone with a camera or a computer with a webcam.

Accepted forms of ID vary from country to country, but include passports, drivers licences or government issued ID cards. Please ensure that you have your ID to hand before starting the process.

The process will require you to capture images of your ID and a selfie, before completing the comparison.

If you have any difficulties completing the process or any further queries about the process please feel free to contact examiners@ibo.org.
