Registration

How much is the registration fee? 

This edition of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Conference will be offered both in person and virtually. 

In-person registration costs 895 USD for each participant. A group discount is also available—register four participants for 895 USD each and get your fifth registration for free by contacting us at globalconferences@ibo.org

Virtual conference individual registration costs 250 USD plus applicable taxes. A group registration that includes five registrations costs 1,000 USD plus applicable taxes.

Can I register multiple people? 

Yes. Group discounts are available for both in-person and virtual registrations. 

In person: Register four participants for 895 USD each and get your fifth registration for free by contacting us at globalconferences@ibo.org

Virtual: A group includes five individual registrations and costs 1,000 USD. 

How can I register more than five people using group registration? 

A group includes five individual registrations. If you want to register more participants, you can purchase another group registration or you can purchase an individual registration. 

For example, if you wish to register seven participants, you can purchase one group registration and two individual registrations. 

Is it possible to register in French or Spanish? 

While we invite everyone to register, please be aware that the conference will be delivered in English only. As such, there is no registration available in French or Spanish. 

When is the registration deadline? 

In person: The deadline for in-person registration is Tuesday 22 March 2022. 

Virtual: For the virtual experience, registration will remain open until the end of the conference on Tuesday 29 March 2022 or until the event is sold out. However, you will have missed some sessions and opportunities to interact with speakers, exhibitors, IB staff and other IB educators if you register after the conference begins. 

Whenever you register, all participants will have access to the platform (including recordings of all keynotes, expert sessions, and breakouts) until Wednesday 29 June 2022. 

I have submitted my registration, but I haven’t received a confirmation email. Why? 

Please check your junk or spam folder. If you are still unable to find it, please contact us at globalconferences@ibo.org for further support. 

Can I walk in and register to attend in person on-site at the conference venue? 

No, according to the Singapore Tourism Board’s Safe Business Events Framework, all participants will be required to pre-register online on or before Tuesday 22 March 2022. Walk-in or on-site registration is not allowed. 

What are the on-site registration hours and locations? 

Saturday 26 March 2022: Registration is open from 8.30am (Singapore Time (SGT)) and the registration counters are situated outside the meeting rooms of the masterclasses located on level 3 of Suntec Singapore. Detailed instructions will be emailed to you three days before the conference. 

Sunday 27 March 2022: Registration is open from 8.00am (SGT) and the registration counters are situated outside Hall 406 located on level 4 of Suntec Singapore. Detailed instructions will be emailed to you three days before the conference. 

Important: The above guidelines are subject to changes as the COVID–19 situation develops globally. 

I attended the conference. Where can I find my certificate of attendance? 

If you have attended the conference, your certificate of attendance will be emailed to you within a couple of weeks from the end date of the conference. If you have not received it, please remember to check your spam or junk folder. 

Alternatively, you can also download your certificate by logging in to your registration with your email address and confirmation number. Please go to the “Certificate of attendance” button to download it. 

Cancellations, refunds and transfers

How can I cancel my registration? 

If you registered as an individualclick here to access your registration. Using the email address used for registration and the confirmation number, go to ‘“SUBSTITUTE REGISTRATION”. You will need to provide the new registrant’s name and email. The new registrant will receive an email to complete their registration. 

If you made a group registration and would like to cancel, please contact globalconferences@ibo.org for guidance. 

Cancellation dates for the main conference 

For cancellations made on or before 4 March 2022, a credit note will be issued for the full registration fee. Cancellations made on or after 5 March 2022 will forfeit 100% of the registration fee with the following exceptions for the in-person registration. 

  • A change in travel regulations restricting foreign delegates travelling to Singapore.
  • A change in government regulations limiting the number of participants allowed at the conference.
  • Personal medical reasons: theregistrant will need to submit a doctor’s or other medical practitioner’s report or note confirming what happened and the nature of the illness or injury.

I am unable to attend the conference; can I transfer my registration to someone else? 

In person: Substitution is allowed until Tuesday 22 March 2022. To transfer your registration, click here to access your registration and go to “SUBSTITUTE REGISTRATION”. You will need to provide the new registrant’s name and email address. No substitution is allowed after Tuesday 22 March 2022. 

Virtual: Substitution may be made at any time. Click here to access your registration and go to “SUBSTITUTE REGISTRATION”. You will need to provide the new registrant’s name and email address. The new registrant will receive an email to access their registration and adjust it, if needed. 

Please note that after Tuesday 22 March 2022, you will have to contact us at globalconferences@ibo.org if you would like to make any substitutions. 

I registered to attend in person in Singapore, but I am unable to attend due to travel and/or government regulations. What should I do? 

Registrants who are unable to attend the conference due to changes in travel regulations and/or government regulations will be switched to virtual registration The difference in price between in-person registration and virtual registration will be converted to a credit note. 

If you need to make a switch to your registration format, please send your request in writing to globalconferences@ibo.org by Tuesday 22 March 2022. 

It is the responsibility of the individual to contact the IB Global Conferences team if they are affected. No refund will be applicable to no-shows. 

I registered to attend the virtual conference but now I would like to attend in person; may I switch my registration? 

Yes, registrants may switch their attendance from virtual to in person up to and including Tuesday 22 March 2022. The registrant will be charged the difference in price between the two formats. After Tuesday 22 March 2022, switching formats will no longer be allowed.

I will be attending in person and I have registered for a masterclass on 26 March 2022; can I switch to another masterclass? 

In-person registrants may change their masterclass, subject to availability, on or before Tuesday 22 March 2022. Changes can be made by logging in to the registration system. Click here to access your registration and go to “MODIFY”. If you need help, please contact us at globalconferences@ibo.org

Changes will not be allowed after Tuesday 22 March 2022 due to the Safe Management Measures (SMMs) implemented by the Singapore authorities: no intermingling is allowed between individuals across different masterclasses throughout the day. 

COVID–19 related questions

Can foreign attendees travel to Singapore to attend the conference? 

Singapore has implemented travel arrangements with some countries and territories to facilitate travel while safeguarding public health. 

Foreign delegates from these countries may submit their request to enter Singapore through the Air Travel Pass (ATP) or the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) to attend the IB Global Conference, Singapore 2022. Please refer to the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website for the latest information on Safe Travel arrangements. 

Do attendees have to serve a 14-day Stay Home Notice (quarantine or “SHN”) to attend the conference? 

Under the Ministry of Health’s current guidelines, selected groups of travellers can enter for short-term business and social (tourist) visits and will not be required to serve an SHN. However, they are required to undergo COVID–19 tests during their stay, including before departure and upon arrival.

What SMMs are in place at the conference? 

Here are some key SMMs. 

  • All attendees are required to download the TraceTogether mobile app for contact tracing and Safe Entry Check-In into the conference venue. 
  • Temperature screenings will be conducted at venue entrances.
  • All attendees are required to practise 1-metre safe distancing between individuals.
  • All attendees are required to wear a face mask at all times, except when drinking and eating.
  • Attendees will be put into zones of no more than 50 participants and they must remain within the same zone throughout the conference.
  • Attendees may be required to take a COVID–19 pre-event test (PET) before entering the event space.

Do I need to be fully vaccinated to attend the in-person conference? 

Yes. As of 15 December 2021, the Singapore government requires anyone attending a conference to be fully vaccinated.

Sessions

What types of sessions will be offered during the virtual conference? What topics will be covered during the conference? 

The content at the IB Global Conference, Singapore will be presented in different formats, including keynote speakers, topic expert sessions and breakouts (IB staff and peer-to-peer).

How can I submit a proposal to present at the virtual conference? 

Do you have an idea for a breakout session? Please visit the “Call for proposals” page for more information. The deadline for submitting a proposal is Monday 29 November 2021.

Language

How will the IB’s official languages be supported in the virtual conference? 

The conference will be held in English with the conference’s virtual platform available only in English. Captions will be made available either live or once the recording is available on demand. More details will be posted on the virtual platform during the conference. 

Conference platform

Will I have access to the virtual conference platform after 29 March 2022? 

Yes! The platform will be accessible until Wednesday 29 June 2022. 

All sessions—keynote speakers, expert sessions and breakouts—will be recorded and available on the platform. You will also have access to any resources that have been posted to the platform. 

Finance

What is the registration fee currency? 

The registration fee is in US dollars (USD). However, schools can pay in the currency that is listed in their accounts with the IB. If you have any finance questions, including about paying in different currencies, contact myaccount@ibo.org

I have a query about my invoice. Who should I contact? 

For any finance-related queries, please contact our finance department at myaccount@ibo.org.  

What are the payment options? 

Registration fees for IB World Schools (individual or group registration) can be paid by credit card, wire transfer or cheque (the latter for the Americas region only). 

Registration fees for non-IB World Schools (individual or group registration) must be paid by credit card at the time of registration. 

Credit card 

If paying by credit card (Visa or Mastercard), you will be asked to fill in your credit card information at the end of the registration process. 

Only one credit card can be used. Payment cannot be split between multiple credit cards. 

The registration fee will be automatically deducted from your credit card. The IB does not charge any processing fee for credit card transactions. 

Wire transfer 

Please inform your bank that all costs are to be met in advance and that the IB must receive the exact amount due. To record your payment correctly, quote the following relevant references.

There is no purchase order payment option when I register, but my school or school district has a purchase order process to follow to pay for registration. How can I pay? 

If your school or school district requires a purchase order, you should follow your school’s internal process. 

During registration, you should select the payment method that will be used to pay for the registration once the purchase order has been approved by your school or school district. 

Once your school or school district has approved the purchase order, please send the purchase order number to our finance team at myaccount@ibo.org (reference your school and the IB Global Conference, Singapore).
