Registration
How can I register for the conference?
You can register for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Virtual Conference, Asia-Pacific 2021 here.
Are pre-conference workshops included in the registration?
Pre-conference workshops have an additional cost and need additional registration. To register for a pre-conference workshop, you must register for the main conference.
During the registration process you will be given the option to add up to two pre-conference workshops to your registration.
If you have already registered for the conference and want to add a pre-conference workshop, you can click here to access your registration. Insert the email address used for registration and your confirmation number. Then go to “MODIFY” and select the pre-conference workshop.
Can I register for pre-conference workshops only (and not attend the main conference)?
No. Pre-conference workshops are not sold separately. You must register for the main conference and add the pre-conference workshops to your registration.
How much is the registration fee?
The IB is offering both individual registrations and group registrations. An individual registration costs 250 USD plus applicable taxes. A group registration that includes five registrations costs 1,000 USD plus applicable taxes.

Can I register multiple people?
The IB is offering group registrations for the virtual conference. A group includes five individual registrations and costs 1,000 USD plus applicable taxes.
How can I register more than five people using group registration?
A group includes five individual registrations and costs 1,000 USD plus applicable taxes. If you want to register more participants, you can purchase another group registration or you can purchase an individual registration for 250 USD.
For example, if you wish to register seven participants, you can purchase one group registration and two individual registrations. The cost will be 1,500 USD plus applicable taxes (without the group registration the cost would be 1,750 USD).
Are there group registrations for the pre-conference workshops?
No, there are no group registrations for pre-conference workshops. The pre-conference workshops cost 75 USD plus applicable taxes.
Is it possible to register in French or Spanish?
While we invite everyone to register, please be aware that the conference will be delivered in English only. As such, there is no registration available in French or Spanish.
When is the registration deadline?
Registration will remain open until the end of the conference (23 April 2021) or until the event is sold out. However, the later you register the more you will miss! If you register on 22 April, you will have missed some sessions and opportunities to interact with speakers, exhibitors, IB staff and other IB educators.
Whenever you register, all participants will have access to the platform (including recordings of all keynote speakers, expert sessions and breakouts) until 23 June 2021.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation dates for the pre-conference workshops
Cancellations made on or before Friday 26 March 2021 will be issued a credit note for the full registration fee. Cancellation made on or after Saturday 27 March 2021 will forfeit 100% of the registration fee.
Cancellation dates for the main conference
Cancellations made on or before Tuesday 30 March 2021 will be issued a credit note for the full registration fee. Cancellation made on or after Wednesday 31 March 2021 will forfeit 100% of the registration fee.
If you registered as an individual, you can either cancel or transfer your registration to someone else. Please see the “How to transfer your registration to someone else” section.

Applicable credit card refunds will be processed to the same credit card used.
For IB World Schools, applicable credits will be issued to school accounts. Contact [email protected] for more details for future credit use.
I am unable to attend the conference; can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Yes. If you are unable to attend the conference you can transfer your registration to someone else. Click here to access your registration. Using the email address used for registration and the confirmation number, go to “SUBSTITUTE REGISTRATION”. You will need to provide the new registrant’s name and email. The new registrant will receive an email to complete his or her registration.

I attended the conference. Where can I find my certificate of attendance?
If you have attended the conference, your certificate of attendance will be emailed to you within a couple of weeks from the end date of the conference. If you have not received it, please remember to check your junk or spam folder.
Alternatively, you can also download your certificate by logging in to your registration with your email address and confirmation number. Please click on the “Certificate of attendance” button to download it.
Sessions
What types of sessions will be offered during the virtual conference? What topics will be covered during the conference?
The content at the IB Virtual Conference, Asia-Pacific 2021 will be presented in different formats, including keynote speakers, expert sessions and breakouts (IB staff and peer-to-peer).
Keynote speakers will deliver “big picture” presentations about education and the conference theme.
Topic expert sessions will be delivered by subject-matter experts on topics that have an impact on the IB community.
Breakout sessions will include external peer-to-peer (single presenter, co-presenters, multi-presenters, panels) and presentations led by IB staff. Breakouts will have interactive features such as polling, questions and answers (Q&A) and discussions.

What are pre-conference workshops?
Pre-conference workshops are three-hour long workshops that will be held on Saturday 17 April 2021 (before the main conference). These workshops are designed for educators seeking opportunities to enhance their professional and leadership skills. Each workshop will equip attendees with the necessary skills to be successful leaders during this time of uncertainty and change in education.
What is the difference between pre-conference workshops and breakout sessions?
The pre-conference workshops are interactive and in-depth, allowing attendees to build skills that can be implemented in their local contexts. In contrast, breakout sessions are designed as snapshots of targeted content related to the conference theme that serve as a portion of the larger conference schedule. These presentations are relevant to the needs of schools and school communities, expanding on what educators have learned through practical implementation.
Language
How will the IB’s official languages be supported in the virtual conference?
The conference will be held in English, therefore the IB will not be providing translations.
Conference platform
Will I have access to the virtual conference platform after 23 April 2021?
Yes! The platform will be accessible until 23 June 2021.
All sessions—keynote speakers, expert sessions and breakouts—will be recorded and available on the platform. You will also have access to any resources that have been posted to the platform.
Finance
What is the registration fee currency?
The registration fee is in US dollars. However, schools can pay in the currency that is listed in their accounts with the IB. If you have any finance questions, including about paying in different currencies, contact [email protected].

What are the payment options?
Registration fees for IB World Schools (individual or group registration) can be paid by credit card, wire transfer or cheque (the latter for the Americas region only).
Registration fees for non-IB World Schools (individual or group registration) must be paid by credit card at the time of registration.
Credit card
If paying by credit card (Visa or Mastercard), you will be asked to fill in your credit card information at the end of the registration process.
Only one credit card can be used. Payment cannot be split between multiple credit cards.
The registration fee will be automatically deducted from your credit card. The IB does not charge any processing fee for credit card transactions.
Wire transfer
Please inform your bank that all costs are to be met in advance and that the IB must receive the exact amount due. To record your payment correctly, quote the following relevant references.

There is no purchase order payment option when I register, but my school or school district has a purchase order process to follow to pay for registration. How can I pay?
If your school or school district requires a purchase order, you should follow your school’s internal process.
During registration, you should select the payment method that will be used to pay for the registration once the purchase order has been approved by your school or school district.
