Quarter Two, 2007
RHRC
I would like to acknowledge the outgoing RHRC members for our region. Di Korare, Bob Knight and Ian Kerr have all finished their terms of office as of the end of April 2007.
All three have given up much of their time and energy to serve on our committee and they have worked hard to represent IB world schools and Heads. Bob, Di and Ian all served on the RAC (Regional Advisory Council), at some time during their tenure. Bob and Di also served on the IHRC, (International Heads representative Committee) for several years.
I wish them all the best.
Welcome to the new members who were elected in the last round of elections.
Sally Holloway from KIS International School in Thailand, Anuradah Monga from Bangalore International School in India and Panayoula Parha from Norwood Morialta School in South Australia.
I hope that school Heads and Principals take the time to check HeadNet on the IBO website, as the minutes of meetings for all regions are posted there. At our last RHRC meeting we discussed in length the planning for and provision of workshops for school, and the committee was impressed with the work done by IBAP staff in order to better serve schools. At most meetings the members of RHRC have a time allocated to talk with Judith Guy, our Regional Director and we feel that we are in a good position to present to her issues and concerns of the schools in our region.
If you have checked the website recently you will see that the IB has a ‘new identity’ and new logo. You will also find information about the IB bursary fund that has recently been established.
Heads, if you are interested in attending the HSA World Conference in San Francisco from 11 to 14 October, please register while there are still spaces left.
