IB Asia Pacific Regional Workshops

@ Cliftons Training Centre, Hong Kong (9-11 March)

It was a huge event with 521 registered participants. Due to the sheer size of the event, the workshops were divided into three venues: Cliftons Quarry Bay, Cliftons Central & Harbour Plaza Northpoint Hotel. Logistic coordination was a challenge but all went well without major hiccups.

@ German European School, Singapore (19-21 April)

This is the first time German European School hosted our Regional Workshops! With the help and full support of their staff and students, the workshops ended with a breeze. We have received many positive feedback from participants.

“Great venue, very spacious, plenty of resources.”

“I am happy and pleased with what I walked away with. Thank you very much for the work you put into the workshops + organization + hosting.”

Teachers’ Convention 2007 was a great success!

Testimonials from the participants:

“Thanks for the conference. That was the best one I've been to in my 3 years here.”

“The opportunity to attend a convention inclusive of teacher, librarians but also educators in other fields - this rarely happen. Thank you for making such a Convention possible. When will the next Convention be held?”

“A challenging but affirming experience. Challenged my thinking.”

Updates to the Registration Policy

The Regional Office recently received several registrations by schools using the school name to reserve seats for upcoming regional workshops.

We understand why it is necessary for schools to reserve places whilst recruiting. However schools should pay a standard fee which allows flexibility.  To be fair to other schools, these reservations will not be entitled to Early Bird privileges. In addition, an additional administration fee of USD80 per participant will apply when the school submits the names in due course. This case will be treated as a substitution of names.

Similarly, cancellation policy will also apply as the standard guidelines.
