Information for IB World Schools

Programme evaluation is both a requirement and a service provided by the IB Organization to IB World Schools. The aim is for the IB to ensure on a regular basis that the standards and practices of the programme are being maintained.  This process allows the IB to work closely with schools in their ongoing development of the programmes. It does not seek to appraise or assess individual teachers or students. It is a process of formal reflection involving all stakeholders within the school community.

PYP and MYP schools will host a visiting team following the completion of the self-study documentation, while DP schools are currently only expected to submit documentation.  A flat $3700 evaluation fee will be due in addition to the annual fees for that academic year.

IB Americas has established deadlines for the submission of the self-study questionnaire and supporting documentation.  Documentation for MYP and PYP schools is due at the conclusion of the semester prior to your school’s visit (1 June or 1 December).  Documentation for DP schools is due 1 June.

Please refer to the calendars below to determine your school’s deadline and/or visit timing.  Schools will be notified by the regional office at least one year in advance of the submission deadline.  Editable Word versions of the guide/questionnaire document are available on the OCC (http://occ.ibo.org).
