Teaching and assessing for global competence – how and why?

This workshop explores the skills, knowledge and attitudes of global competence, and the ways in which we can assess student learning in our international curriculum.

This pre-conference session gives educators, coordinators and administrators insights into the development of the MYP through The Next Chapter project. Participants will discuss the MYP approach to concept-based learning, contextual learning and the subject group conceptual frameworks.  The session will also provide insight and discussion on the role of Internal Assessment and MYP curriculum planning. A series of interactive activities will give participants the opportunity to discuss and reflect on to reflect strategically on how your school will meet the requirements of the MYP.   Global Professional Development will discuss training opportunities which will enable teachers, coordinators and administrators to succeed in raising the level of education at their school.
