IB graduate profile - Sabrina Henze

Graduated from American School of Paris, France, in 1996.

"I began my IB adventure with a year of “pre-IB” studies in tenth grade (or “seconde prĂ©-B.I.” in French) at the Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel in Paris, France. For the IB program itself I switched to the American School of Paris (ASP), which had a broader range of IB course offerings; the psychology classes particularly intrigued me. I believe there were approximately 30 IB students in my class, and we were part of ASP’s 50th graduating class in June 1996.

The IB diploma helped me gain acceptance into my first-choice university, was invaluable preparation for higher education, and provided some college credits. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Georgetown University’s College of Arts and Sciences in Washington D.C. During those years in Washington, my interests in criminology and law enforcement were fostered through my coursework (such as abnormal and criminal psychology and forensic science), volunteer work as an emergency medical technician (which often required close cooperation with the police), and a two-month stint as sergeant-at-arms on a D.C. Superior Court “priority one” Grand Jury for sex offense and homicide cases.

Eager to return to Europe, I earned a Master's degree in criminology from the University of Cambridge’s Institute of Criminology in England in July 2001. Studying in Cambridge was a chance of a lifetime. Following that, I returned to my home city of Paris, France, where I now live and work. As volunteer work I am also President of Health Network International, an English-speaking organization of healthcare professionals based in Paris."
