School Communication Manager Ref 713a

Interview date: week commencing 8th February

The school communications manager has to develop, manage and plan an IB communications strategy for engaging with IB World Schools, building loyalty and driving consistency with the brand promise. The responsibility of this post is to ensure, oversee and drive initiatives to maintain consistency with the mission, values and client services and messages and to insure that schools receive pertinent, accurate and timely information.

The School communications manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing and recommending a communications strategy to improve the effectiveness of communications with schools worldwide
  • Serving as the keeper of school communications processes, recommending and implementing standards and best practices so that good communication is widely understood and achieved across the organization.
  • Researching and analyzing best practice in strengthening stakeholder relations and engagement
  • Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of all touch points (i.e., points of interaction) between the organization and schools, using stakeholder research such as surveys and focus groups in line with the broader school services division strategy and IB communications strategy, so that a plan of action to strengthen stakeholder relations can be created and implemented.

Requirements: 

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • Substantial communications, customer relations or marketing experience preferably in a non-profit and/or membership organization
  • Experience of managing time sensitive projects that involve input from different departments
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to communicate with people of all different levels and from different cultures
  • Fluency in English and excellent plain English writing skills, adaptable for all levels of communication.
  • Good team player
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Professional membership of an appropriate professional marketing or communications body
  • Experience in a school/education environment would be beneficial
  • Experience with a CRM or customer service software system would be beneficial
