MYP Schools Services Regional Manager Ref 614a

The MYP regional manager oversees the compliance with, and implementation of, MYP global guidelines in the region, identifying opportunities for growth, anticipating implementation challenges and risks, and taking corrective action in the region. The activities require planning and collaboration with regional professional development, and programme development managers.  The role is directly responsible for the management of application, authorization and programme evaluation processes.

In order to achieve the projected 2020 growth, this position will require an ongoing expansion and increase of outsourced activities, delivering continuous training and development of IB volunteers/educators, ensuring high service satisfaction from schools and compliance with programme requirements, through the implementation of globally developed quality assurance tools.

The MYP School Services Regional Manager will be responsible for:

  • Oversee the application, authorization and evaluation of MYP programmes throughout the region.
  • Support and guide schools on programme implementation issues at all stages and on authorization and evaluation processes, as per guidelines from Global.
  • Evaluate programme implementation in the region to take corrective action and recommend solution
  • Manage the report writing process and monitor follow up.
  • Ensure IB volunteers/educators are trained in line with global guidelines, working closely with the volunteer department
  • Provide programme support guidance to IB volunteers/educators before and during IB school services assignments
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to the quality of consultation, authorization and evaluation visits, adhering to global requirements.
  • Contribute to programme development and ensure programme practices/requirements are consistently applied across the region.
  • Work with other departments (finance, regional development, professional development and volunteer department) to inform them of all MYP projects, initiatives, etc.

Requirements:

  • A degree, preferably post graduate, in a relevant discipline.
  • Several years teaching experience, preferably as a MYP teacher and/or coordinator.
  • Knowledge of Americas region, its schools and educational systems. Specific knowledge of Latin America a plus.
  • Familiarity with MYP school authorization and evaluation processes.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills in various contexts
  • Ability to design processes and systems in a way that is efficient and effective.
  • Good IT literacy with all standard software and web based tools
  • Fully bilingual English/French or English/Spanish
  • Resilient and capable of working under pressure and responding to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Freedom to travel throughout the region, including weekends.

Location

The MYP School Services Regional Manager post will be temporarily located in the NY office and will relocate to the Washington D.C. area within 12 – 14 months.
