Head of Online Learning (Diploma Programme) Ref 410c

Salary: circa £45,000 - £52,000

The head of online learning development carries a major responsibility for leading the development and implementation of online learning for Diploma Programme students, thus advancing the IB’s strategic initiatives of increasing access and helping to ensure that an IB education is fit for purpose in the 21st century. The appointee will be expected to work closely with the IB staff in the academic and schools divisions. A key aspect of this role is the management of relationships with external partners.

Applicants for this post should have significant secondary level teaching experience and hold a graduate degree with recognised experience and qualifications in online learning at secondary level. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate proven leadership and managerial skills in an international context and have experience of working effectively with associates/team members at a distance. The ability to organise and lead seminars, webinars and meetings is essential, as is an excellent command of English. The ability to work in at least one other IB language (French/Spanish/Chinese) would also be highly desirable. Applicants should be able to work flexible hours in order to accommodate the schedule of partners and consultants. 

The post will be located initially in the IB Cardiff office and will then relocate to the new global centre in the Netherlands at approximately the end of 2010
