Global Finance Controller

This role will define and control the financial stewardship of the organization on a global basis.  The controller will lead risk management including:  effective control systems, treasury functions and ensuring that the requirements of reporting authorities are met.  Furthermore, efficient and effective transaction processing will underpin the relationships with external customers and suppliers under appropriate regulatory regimes. Therefore, guardianship of financial data and reporting are an integral part of this function.

This post is based in the New York Office.

The principle accountabilities required of this post are:

Develop and manage IB’s statutory function throughout the world to ensure IB maintains a premier position in statutory compliance.

Develop and manage IB’s treasury function throughout the world in order to leverage assets and to minimize financial loss risk. 

Develop and manage IB’s transaction processing throughout the world in order that service levels to stakeholders are maintained at a high standard while delivering cost effective service.

Accurate, timely and user-friendly financial reports are prepared on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to different stakeholder groups.

Play a key role in the global finance team to realize the finance vision in order to keep IB’s finance function ‘fit for purpose’ for short, medium and long term horizons.

Play a pivotal interface with IB’s finance and audit committees to ensure governance stakeholders are able to make fully informed decisions.

Requirements:

 

  • Must of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, finance, economics or related field and completed professional finance qualification
  • Substantial experience in a technical accounting role (controlling, tax, and/or treasury) with proven experience in an international role and significant financial control experience
  • Ability to integrate technical / legal pronouncements into the organization processes and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively and lead decision making with external advisors
  • Ability to create and maintain value added relationships with the audit and finance committees
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective strategic thinking
  • Developed skills in planning and organizing

 

Global Travel: 40%
