Project manager - Access projects

IBNA, the North American regional office of International Baccalaureate, provide a wide range of services to IB World Schools and to prospective schools that are interested in our programmes. In addition, IB North America provides a full array of professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators throughout the year.

 

Salary Band (Level 5) US $75,000 - $85,000

The Project Manager will oversee the management of the project funded by the US Department of Education to increase the number of low-income students passing IB exams through targeted services and outreach to Title I schools. 

The principle outputs required of the job are:

Will need to determine most effective means for organizing activities within scope of project and objectives for the project

The manager is responsible for the implementation of IB in five pilot middle-high school partnerships, focusing on grades 9 and 10

Oversee implementation of the programs, the development and delivery of pilot services which include, development and training of Coaching Teams and the development of the Annual Program Evaluation.

Maintain and develop outreach activities in all Title I high schools implementing IB programs to foster a network of schools exchanging best practice and strategies for increasing the number of students passing IB Diploma exams

The manager will identify appropriate vendors and oversee procurement process

The recruitment and training of appropriate personnel for the project, including consultants and volunteers

Correctly identify, communicate and manage risks related to the project

The manager must effectively report on the progress of the project

The manager is required to collect the qualitative and quantitative data and evaluate the effectiveness of IB North America services, the impact of the programs on student’s achievement

The manager will perform impact studies in 3 districts

Maintain the database for tracking students

The manager will identify and organize a steering committee to oversee progress on the project. The members of the committee are identified and meet at least once a year to discuss the project

Requirements:

  • 5 years experience developing and coordinating activities in the project, such as services, publications, online training, research and evaluation
  • Knowledge of the IB programs and experience in IB program coordination or administration
  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial management and reporting related to grant projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A Masters Degree in Education
