IBEN (IB Educator Network) Manager Ref 706a

The IBEN Manager will oversee the community of IB Educators including development and maintaining of IB Educator skill levels, as well as the recruitment, professional development, performance management of all IB Educators in the Americas,

while managing the needs of the IB. The job holder is responsible for the lifecycle management of volunteer educators including assessing the IB’s current and projected needs (in consultation with the Heads of Professional Development and School Services), developing and maintaining skill criteria for the variety of positions, advertising and recruiting professionals to participate, professional developing, and performance managing against established criteria and administering a globally consistent reward structures. This position will be responsible for all IB educators (school visitors, workshop leaders, consultants, field reps, etc.), professionals who contribute their time, talent and expertise to growing and sustaining IB programmes across the region. The goal for this jobholder is to support the regional director in carrying out a coherent structure that will unite the various ways in which volunteer IBEN members contribute to the IB’s mission. Within these contexts, the jobholder will work extensively with colleagues from other IB divisions within the regional office and their global counterparts in School Services, Professional Development, Financial Services and Communications.

The IBEN (IB Educator Network) Manager will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and developing a pre-existing database in order to manage information about all IB educators across the region and insure records of evaluation and performance are kept up to date.
  • Creating and establishing a standard profile for IB educators in order to transparently implement criteria for recruitment, identification and selection of educators.
  • Managing IB Educator recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and dismissal (in consultation with School Services and PD regional heads and in line with growth forecasts).
  • Manage staffing of educators during IB events including those of School Services and Professional Development while seeking input from other departments
  • Manage all logistics for assignments, invitations and confirmations with IBEN members (in liaison with other internal departments) in order to maintain a high level of customer service within the IB.
  • Evaluate, and manage training, including performance management of IBEN members in order to maintain the IBEN excellent level of service.
  • Manage the educator’s contribution recognition and create consistent systems of gathering data in order to ensure recognition of achievements within the IB.
  • Act as main point of contact with all educators in the IB Educator Network and administer educator satisfaction system developed globally.
  • Engage in and make critical contributions to global IB meetings to ensure the involvement of IB Educators Network within the IB
  • Monitor and ensure legal compliance in regional and global context to minimize risk to the IB.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or combination of experience, education and training that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position
  • Significant and successful customer service experience preferably in non-profit environment
  • Ability to work within a fast paced environment
  • Ability to take initiative and manage a wide scope of projects
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Highly proficient in the use of information technology (MS Office) as well as database technology
  • Ability to work on numerous complex tasks without extensive supervision
  • Experience with volunteer administration
  • Successful track record of work within a customer service based

Location

The IBEN (IB Educator Network) Manager post will be based in the New York or Maryland office.
