Curriculum Manager Ref 711s

The Curriculum Manager for Access Projects within the Advancement Division is responsible for developing the core curriculum framework for a portfolio of ambitious international teacher training projects.

The role of the IB Access Projects Curriculum Manager is to plan, write, and review the curricula that underpin the various access and service projects that the IB undertakes. The Curriculum Manager will support teams of trainers in various countries in developing ambitious and innovative training projects with educationally disadvantaged populations.

The Curriculum Manager will need to negotiate successful integration of academic and operational objectives, as well as ensure accord with other related departments in the International Baccalaureate. Consequently s/he will liaise with the heads of the programmes globally (PYP, MYP, and DP) as well as with Professional Development and Language Services throughout the IB. 

It is expected that the Curriculum Manager will be familiar with educational best practice and research about educational initiatives, policies and practices in development education and education globally.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Bachelor’s degree and a combination of teaching background, education, and training experience that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position
  • Proven superior curriculum writing expertise and a mature understanding of the challenges and opportunities that educators face in schools with minimal resources and/or schools operating in different educational contexts.
  • Familiarity with practice and policy in a number of educational systems in the Developing World, including a knowledge and understanding of the cultural and political complexities of a developing region
  • Experience working in education in the Developing World
  • Familiarity with IB programmes, principles and practices
  • A team player with excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with associates/team members at a distance
  • Ability to take initiative and manage a wide scope of projects without extensive supervision
  • Evidence of refined project management, consultation, facilitation, communication and  presentation skills

The post is based in Singapore.
