University Liaison Officer South Asia Ref 752s

Closing date: 31 May 2010

This is a one year, fixed-term, part-time (50%) appointment. The post-holder can be home-based and a resident of South Asia. You will be required to travel throughout the South Asia region and occasionally international travel may be essential. While based in South Asia, the post-holder will be an IB employee who will be part of the Asia Pacific regional team, currently based mainly in Singapore.
The objective of this role is to enhance the availability and quality of university recognition of IB programmes so as to facilitate IB students progressing to university in South Asia region (currently defined as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Nepal).


Requirements:


• Minimum of a Bachelors degree position and teaching qualifications
• Significant recent experience in an IB Diploma School as a DP coordinator and/or college counsellor. MYP experience would be an added advantage.
• In depth knowledge of the IB diploma programme, including its history, philosophical underpinnings, and recognition at the tertiary level in South Asia and abroad.
• Ability to present to large audiences with authority and personal presence.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in small meetings and/or by telephone.
• In-depth understanding of the university admissions process in South Asia (and preferably other countries)
• Knowledge of standard marketing techniques (eg. segmentation, stakeholder analysis) and experience of applying these in a proactive manner.
• Good IT literacy with all standard software, particularly with PowerPoint for presentations.
• Self-discipline and time management skills to work from home with remote management support.
• Ability to sustain good working relationships with remote colleagues (eg. Diploma Programme and Recognition team in Singapore).
