Consolidations Accountant Ref 762s

Closing date: 6th August 2010

Reporting to the Consolidations Manager, the Consolidations Accountant assists in the provision of accurate actual monthly and annual accounts (including linkage with FP&A team to ensure timely accounts and data integrity), and other financial information for directors, managers and external authorities to enable the IB to function within statutory guidelines and with good management control. Within the role the post holder contributes to financial control over accounting process and standards throughout the IB.

S/He will be expected to work effectively with people from a wide variety of cultures, across the organization including the financial systems manager, regional finance managers, the global transaction processing manager, the financial planning & analysis team and the global consolidations manager, in addition to external personnel from banks, financial institutions, software development companies, internal and external auditors and tax authorities.

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of accounting or audit experience with 4 years of management experience, with part or qualified accountant qualification with proven experience of working with and disseminating large volumes of financial data
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards including IFRS and indirect tax systems (VAT, GST etc)
  • Experience of multi-currency consolidations and company audit, and in the production of group company accounts in multiple sets of books
  • Proven experience of strategizing and directing accounting processes globally leading to annual close and reporting
  • A general knowledge of all finance functions within an organization and experience of driving change improvement
  • Preferably with 3 years of hands-on experience of accounting systems with Oracle
  • Highly numerate and meticulous
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people within the organization and externally
  • Ability to work on own and as part of a team, prioritize workload and tight deadlines
  • Able to travel when required
