Due to the expansion of the ICT development team within the Information and Communications Technology department, four opportunities for analyst programmers have arisen. This department provides a service to IB staff, offices, schools and examiners worldwide. The development team consists of three areas: application development, application support and testing. There are two application development teams which work closely with the application support and testing teams to create quality web based systems for users worldwide.
With an IT related degree (or equivalent experience in an IT discipline), you will be able to demonstrate experience of analysing and developing IT systems in a professional environment and working on several large and complex IT projects in all aspects of the full development lifecycle.
It is essential that you have experience of working closely with end-users in a professional environment in order to elicit and document detailed system requirements. As such, it is also essential that you are able to communicate technically complex issues effectively to non-technical staff. Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience of UML and the use of Use Cases in the analysis process.
The ability to work as part of a development team including close liaison with other analysts, programmers and testers is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience of Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.
You will work on the development of web applications which support the IB’s examination assessment process. Strong knowledge of ColdFusion, Oracle PL/SQL, JavaScript and HTML gained in a professional work environment are essential.
