Timeline and stages

The authorization process varies by school and IB programme, but typically takes between two and three years.

It comprises the following phases.

Global authorization process

Below, you can view global authorization timelines for each programme.

The two global authorization timelines below apply to schools seeking to offer the Career-related Programme (CP) on its own.

The authorization process varies for schools authorized for the Diploma Programme (CP) that are seeking to add the CP. The authorization timeline for such schools is determined regionally; interested schools should consult the school services team in the relevant regional office for more information.
