Drew Deutsch
It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Drew Deutsch to fill the post of the IB North America regional director, effective 14 April 2008.
Drew most recently served as vice president of project management and operations for the K12 services division at The Princeton Review where he was responsible for the execution and implementation of interim assessment and intervention programs for school districts across the United States.
He began his career with The Princeton Review in 1992 as an assistant director. Drew’s exceptional leadership and business skills led to his promotion to director of course operations and later to assistant vice president and vice president of the test prep division. Under his leadership, this division launched the online test prep business which grew into a multi-million dollar operation within two years.
Drew’s familiarity and passion for the IB began as a Diploma Programme student at the United Nations International School in New York. Twenty years later he has said
“I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the IB team during this period of unprecedented growth”.
The process for selecting the IB North America regional director was a rigorous one, with strong interest both internally and externally. We were honoured to have many high calibre candidates in the selection process.
The interview panel included director general, Jeff Beard, members from the IB North America Board of Directors, and other key members of the IB community, all of whom were in agreement that Drew’s unique combination of skills and experience made him the best candidate for the role.
Drew will report to the IB North America Board of Directors until the merger process with the IB is complete later this year. He will also have a matrix reporting link to the director general, and will be part
of the directors leadership team.
Drew lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with his wife Sarah and his 16 month old daughter Isabella.
Please join us in congratulating Drew on his appointment.
